🏅 Athletics Highlights 🏅

BOYS TRACK

8th grade had a great showing on Wednesday placing second place overall. Standout athletes include: Walker Pitcock, 3rd at Triple Jump, Hudson Mathis, 2nd in 2400m and mile, Austyn Clanton placed 4th in shotput, Luis Martinez placed 2nd in discus. All of our 8th grade boys relays took first place, those included: Dean Johnson, Kerlin Zamora, Landon Altamirano, Mason Watson, Amir Hillery, and Grant Dorman.

7th grade Xavier and Lucas Lejeune-Smith placed 3rd and 2nd in the 2400m run. Jeffrey Oldham took 3rd in the 110 hurdles. Josias Watson placed 3rd in the 300 hurdles.

8th Grade had a nice showing at our Tri practice meet on Friday night. Hudson Mathis placed first in both the boys 2400m run and 1600m run. All 3 8th grade boys relays took first place. Nic Gassaway took 2nd in the 800m run. Bryce Potter took first in the 110 hurdles. Mason Watson took first in the 400m run and Ryden Morris took 3rd. Kerlin Zamora was 2nd in triple jump.

7th grade boys, Lucas and Xavier Lejune Smith placed first and second in the 2400m run, Matthew Morales took 3rd in the 800m run, Seely Fox took 5th. Josias Watson took 3rd in the 110 hurdles, and 1st in the 300m hurdles. Shane Wright took 3rd in the 100m dash. Jaxon Coob took 2nd in the 400m run

GIRLS TRACK

A big congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade Lady Panthers, on Wednesday taking 1st place at our Parkway Relays. Our 8th grade girls took 1st in all relays and our 8th graders together had a total of 298 team points. Keep up the good work!

A huge congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade Lady Panthers Track Team for an incredible performance at their first meet this past Friday! Our girls brought home 1st place, setting the tone for an exciting season ahead. Way to start the season strong, Lady Panthers!

CHOIR

Let's take a moment to recognize Piper Boles (8th Grade) for placing into the 2026 TCDA Junior High All State Choir.

The auditions are made up of students from across the entire state of Texas. Piper was one of only fifty students selected to be a part of the choir, and she will represent MPJH this summer in an all-state concert in San Antonio.

Please congratulate her if you see her! She is one of only two students in all of MISD who were selected, and the only student from MPJH!
